Room Acoustics or Heat Protection: We Ensure Comfort.

At the core of our building physics advice are people and their needs. We focus on thermal, acoustic, and visual comfort, as well as noise protection – all while improving energy efficiency.

Planning and Consulting for Clients and Architects
At MorgenGrün, we advise clients and architects on building design to ensure long-term thermal protection suited for both today's and future climatic conditions. Throughout the planning process, we calculate all relevant factors and provide the necessary documentation for building permit applications and commissioning in compliance with the German Building Energy Act (GEG= Gebäudeenergiegesetz):

  • overall energy efficiency,
  • energy performance certificates (based on demand and consumption),
  • average U-values (thermal resistance),
  • thermal insulation compliance,
  • condensation risk assessment,
  • summer overheating protection,
  • two- and three-dimensional analyses.

Whether Airborne or Impact Sound or External Noise: We Provide the Certificates

Whether airborne sound, impact sound, or external noise, we provide the  certificates. At MorgenGrün, we prepare the sound insulation certificate required by building regulations for your property. Using building acoustics, we assess the transmission of airborne and structure-borne sound through building elements and advise on the best sound insulation solutions:

  • Airborne sound: We evaluate how airborne sound waves propagate from one room to another via a building component and plan the optimal sound insulation.
  • Impact sound: We assess the transmission of sound through building components to optimise sound insulation.
  • External noise: We analyse the external noise environment, compare noise reduction measures, and optimise sound insulation solutions. We design sound insulation in compliance with DIN 4109.

Optimising Room and Surface Acoustics

With our expertise in room acoustics, we design spaces to ensure the acoustics are perfectly suited to their intended use, offering advice on effective and cost-efficient solutions. Key factors include sound – reflecting and sound – absorbing surfaces.

  • Absorptive surfaces: We provide the necessary sound absorption solutions, such as ceiling elements, wall absorbers, carpets, etc., in compliance with DIN 18041
  • Reverberation time simulation: For lecture halls, media rooms, and music spaces, we offer spatially resolved simulations of reverberation time
  • Speech intelligibility: We simulate speech clarity in 3D models, for example, to optimise electroacoustic systems for voice alarms
  • Acoustic comfort: We support the design process and assess acoustic comfort (e.g. for certification purposes)
