Room Acoustics or Heat Protection: We Ensure Comfort.

People and their needs are at the center of our building physics advice. We are concerned with thermal, acoustic and visual comfort, noise protection and, at the same time, reducing energy consumption.

Planning and advice for clients and architects
At MorgenGrün, we advise clients and architects on the planning of building constructions to ensure thermal protection that meets the climatic conditions in the long term. During the planning process, we calculate all the relevant factors and provide the necessary evidence for the building application and commissioning in accordance with the German Building Energy Act (GEG):

  • overall energy efficiency,
  • energy performance certificates (based on demand and consumption),
  • average U-values (thermal resistance),
  • minimum thermal insulation,
  • condensation-free,
  • summer thermal insulation and
  • two- and three-dimensional thermal bridge calculations.

Whether airborne or impact sound or external noise: we provide the certificates
At MorgenGrün, we create the sound insulation certificate required by building law for your building. To do this, we use building acoustics to check the transmission of airborne and structure-borne sound through building components and advise you on the right sound insulation for you:

  • Airborne sound: We check how airborne sound waves propagate from the sending room to the receiving room via a component and plan the optimal sound insulation.
  • Impact sound: We check the transmission of sound through components to optimize sound insulation.
  • Outside noise: We analyze the outside noise situation and dimension and optimize noise reduction measures. We design the sound insulation in accordance with DIN 4109.

Optimizing the acoustics of rooms and surfaces
With our expertise in room acoustics, we design rooms so that the acoustics are exactly right for the use, and advise you on effective and economical measures. Important factors here are sound reflecting and sound absorbing surfaces.

  • Absorption surfaces: We provide the necessary sound absorption surfaces such as ceiling sails, wall absorbers, carpets, etc. according to DIN 18041 (audibility in rooms).
  • Simulation of reverberation time: For lecture and media halls as well as music and lecture rooms, we offer a spatially resolved simulation of the reverberation time.
  • Speech intelligibility: We simulate speech clarity in a 3D model, for example, to size electroacoustic systems for voice alarms.
  • Acoustic comfort: We provide support in design and evaluate acoustic comfort (e.g. for certifications).
